These two cars are some of the fastest and quickest accelerating cars in the world. I chose these because they are fairly similar in performance, therefore you can just decide based on price, looks and insurance cost. My personal choice of car here would have to be the Maserati MC12, the back end is just beautiful. But..
Which one would you choose?
Right lets get started:
Maserati MC12
Average insurance for middle-age man, safe neighbourhood: $1250 month
The Maserati MC12 is a two-seater sports car produced by Italian car maker Maserati to allow a racing variant to compete in the FIA GT Championship. The car entered production in 2004 with 30 cars produced (five of which were not for sale). A further 25 were produced in 2005 making a total of 50 cars available for customers, each of which were pre-sold for €600 000.
Maserati designed and built the car on the chassis of the Enzo Ferrari but the final car has much larger size and a lower drag coefficient. The MC12 is longer, wider and taller and has a sharper nose and smoother curves than the Enzo Ferrari, which has faster acceleration, better braking performance (shorter braking distance) and a higher top speed. The top speed of the Maserati MC12 is 330 kilometres per hour (205 mph) whereas the top speed of the Enzo Ferrari is 350 kilometres per hour (217.5 mph).
Invicta S1-600
Average insurance for middle-age man, safe neighbourhood: $900/month
The Invicta Car Company revealed a sensational ultra high-performance supercharged version of its British-built S1 luxury two-seater sportscar. The new model has been unvelied at the Autosport International show on Thursday 13 January, 2005.
Called the Invicta S1-600 and closely based on the current production model, the new car is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre Ford V8 engine which produces more than 600 bhp at 4,500 rpm. As well as the new engine, which produces almost double the power of the standard S1-320 model, the showcar features a six-speed manual gearbox, refined aerodynamics and specially-made Toyo T1-R tires.
